How Ty’s Treats Gives Back

Hey everyone! Thank you for coming back to my page! Today I’m going to share with you how we at Ty’s Treats give back to our community and support our soldiers.

Giving Back To Our Community

Ty’s Treat sponsors a TCYSA soccer team every fall. TCYSA stands for Tioga County Youth Soccer Association, which is ran 100% by volunteers. We proudly display our sponsorship plaques on our community wall to show off our love and support for our community. Our community wall consists of schedules for all Candor Youth Association, Candor High School sports teams as well as pictures of the athletes in actions.

Supporting Soldiers

When I started Ty’s Treats I wanted to make sure that I gave back to my community and I wanted to supported a cause that was close to my heart. That’s why I chose Adopt A US Soldier program. Every month, Ty’s Treat sponsors a new military unit that’s deployed over seas. It’s called “Project Frontlines”. Every month we get a new unit/ soldier. We send letters, up coming holiday cards, supplies and treats. Every month we post a list of needs requested by the troops in our Support Our Troops corner. We encourage our customers to bring in items and letters by offering them a discount to participate in helping us give back. Customers who chose to participate in our Support Our Troops program, receive a punch card with 20 stars on it. For every item a customer drops off they receive a punch on the card. When all the stars are punched, they receive 20% off their next purchase. I’m proud to share that Support Our Troops has been very successful so far!! Many customers drop off supplies and letters without getting their cards punched. They are just happy to donate supplies. Many of them have commented that they’ve always wanted to support the deployed military men and women, but weren’t sure where to start. I’m very proud that I can help people, help other people!

Welcome to my blog! This blog will be about anything and everything related to my bakery, our mission to giveback as well as fun baking related items/topics!

About Us

We are a small bakery located in my hometown of Candor, NY. I run the bakery by myself with occasional help from my sister or niece. We make cookies, cakes, cupcakes, breads, muffins and cheesecake. Our specialty is No-Bake cookies. But these are not your Grandmother’s No-Bakes! Our No-Bakes put decadent twist on a classic cookie. We currently offer 12 different varieties of No-Bake cookies. Coconut, candy bar flavors, white chocolate, pretzels and marshmallow cream are just some examples of what we can do.

Being that we are a small local shop, we depend on people in our community to support us. As do local farmers and other merchants. That is why Ty’s Treats always buy from local farmers and small stores for our ingredients. Every year we go pick berries at Berry Good Acres, which is also located in Candor. We typically go once a week and pick 10-15lbs at a time. We then wash and freeze the berries so we can use them all year. During the summer and into the early fall, we shop at our local farmers market. We believe it’s important to keep local money local. Support each other so all small businesses can succeed.
